Tonia Photography’s annual photo calendar–journal came to light once again.

This year’s theme is:

Eros | 12 Portals of Connection with the Self and Others.

This journal invites us to pause and reflect on the ways we relate to ourselves, to others, and to the world around us.

Each month opens a symbolic “portal,” offering a visual and reflective journey into the landscapes of connection: intimacy, self-awareness, vulnerability, desire, boundaries, and presence.

Personal Development and Therapy through the Arts

In the realm of visual arts and personal development, Tonia Avgoustaki stands out as a pioneer, combining her talents as a photographer and psychodramatist to create a unique and transformative experience. She facilitates self-observation and expression, offering a fresh perspective on the journey toward self-discovery and personal growth.

She studied Visual Communication and Fine Arts, and has been actively working in the field of visual arts and photography for 26 years. She is the co-founder of the multi-award-winning creative studio Spir.to_creative space, a space for art, expression, and personal development, as well as the artistic collective “Second Floor Now.” She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad.

Tonia collaborates with the psychotherapeutic center of Heraklion and the Psychodrama Center of Crete – Psyche, and she is a member of the Hellenic Association of Art Therapists. She is also a Psychology student at the European University of Cyprus.

She has combined her studies in Psychodrama and Art Therapy with her expertise in photography, coordinating both individual and group Therapeutic Photography sessions as well as Psychodrama workshops on various themes, with a primary focus on self-care.

Tonia strongly believes in the therapeutic power of art, creativity, and collaboration. In recent years, she has been exploring photography as a tool for mental health therapy. She is also the publisher of the annual “Tonia’s Photography Calendars”, artistic photography calendars for personal development.

With 14 years of experience in yoga, she completed in 2024 her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at the Yoga Pilates Academy. She teaches Hatha Yoga, Meditation, and Yin Yoga.
